mission
Our mission is to design an autonomous landing system with the capability to navigate to a destination and determine the safest possible landing zones of the location. To achieve this main goal, the team has established the following objective: To design and implement an Autonomous Landing Algorithm (ALA) capable of detecting the safest possible landing zones. To complete this objective, the team will integrate two LiDAR sensors that will traverse and survey the area, as well as recollect the surface data. This data will then be used to test the ALA. Lastly, the data will be rendered to obtain a better visualization of what the LiDAR sensor is capable of seeing/detecting. The rendered data will give us an explanation of how the sensor behaves, how the data is recollected, and the precision in which the sensor captures different characteristics of the area being surveyed.
